Kembara

Host terms

DRAFT. This text is a placeholder and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is not yet in force.

These terms apply to an organisation that hosts an event on Kembara. They add to the terms of use.

Price

Hosting an event on Kembara is free. We ask for no card and make no charge per runner. If we offer paid extras later, they will be optional, priced in the app, and we will tell hosts before anything changes.

Footage

Footage recorded through the Kembara camera mode belongs to Kembara. We keep it for 30 days unless the organiser chooses longer, cut clips from it for runners who buy a race package, and may use short extracts to show what Kembara does. The host may not sell or publish the footage elsewhere, and agrees not to run a second recording of the same checkpoints for sale.

People in the pictures

The host tells runners that checkpoints are filmed, through the event’s instructions and signs at the checkpoint. A runner can turn off cameras for themselves in the app, and the host will not bind a camera to a control where that cannot be respected.

Minors

Events for school pupils set the minors flag on each class. Results then show bib numbers only, positions are hidden from the public, and clips are sold only to the organisation, not to individuals.

Land and safety

The host holds the permissions to use the ground and is responsible for the safety of the people taking part. Kembara’s help button sends a position to the organiser’s phone; it does not call the emergency services.
